Sammy Sosa, the former baseball player who competed with Mark McGwire for the single season home run record, now looks like a vampire.
A photo of the former MLB star looking like a vampire - complete with an intense widow’s peak, lighter skin and a sharp, dark suit - went viral after Yahoo! Sports’ Jeff Passan posted it on Twitter. “Breaking: Sammy Sosa guest starring on True Blood this week,” he wrote.
It turns out that Sosa was appearing on a TV show, but not HBO’s hit vampire drama. According to Zap2It, he was actually doing an appearance on Panamanian TV and the woman in the picture is Nairobi Dacosta, a popular TV personality there.
FoxSports notes that other Twitter users have pointed out that he looks like a vampire these days.
Hey, Vampire Sammy Sosa. How many games do you see the Knicks winnings against the Pacers in round 2? pic.twitter.com/ixO4dXBNxH

And it’s also not the first time Sosa has caused a stir on social media. Deadpin noted that the last time he made headlines was for his bizarre Pinterest page, which went live in January. He pins photos of himself posted on Flickr and every photo has the same caption: “Sammy Sosa. Yes, I'm the real Sammy Sosa, and this is my Pinterest.”

Sosa hit over 60 home runs in a season three times in his career and retired after 2007 as a suspected steroid user.
