Annie is on the movie and it turns out that the sun will come out tomorrow a little sooner. Sony has decided to reschedule the film for the week before Christmas 2014.
Sony picked Dec. 25 back in February, but since then, that day has become increasingly crowded. According to Box Office Mojo, Disney’s musical Into The Woods, Fox’s third Night at the Museum movie and the Universal war drama Unbroken (directed by Angelina Jolie) are all scheduled for that day.
Now, IndieWire is reporting that Annie will be out a week earlier, on Dec. 18. But that still doesn’t mean that it won’t have tough competition. Disney’s mysterious Tomorrowland project and Ridley Scott’s Exodus are scheduled for Dec. 12 and The Hobbit: There and Back Again is out on Dec. 17.
Annie will star Beasts of the Southern Wild’s Quvenzhane Wallis, Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz. Easy A’s Will Gluck is directing and the producers include Will Smith and Jay Z. Bobby Cannavale and Rose Byrne also have roles.
