The two Washington 16-year-old boys who were accused for killing Delbert "Shorty" Belton, 88, veteran of War World II last month pleaded not guilty.

Demetrius Glenn and Kenan Adams-Kinard are being tried as adults even though they are only 16 for beating Belton brutally with flashlights in his car and stealing his wallet on August 22.

Investigators have found Glenn's fingerprints "on the inside of the passenger door behind the driver's seat Belton's car" and Adams-Kinard's fingerprints were found on the "outside of the driver's door", according to Daily Mail UK.

Glenn immediately turned himself in to the police and was being held on a $2 million bail while Adams-Kinard fleed from the police for four days and was then held on a $3 million bail.

There was a letter found at the residence that Adams-Kinard was arrested that indicated that the teen boys punched Belton three times before taking his wallet and cocaine out of his pockets.

"The kid wrote a letter to his mom admitting this crap and now he pleads not guilty," said Ted Denison, a close friend of Belton, reports CBS News.

Demetrius Glenn and Kenan Adams-Kinard are being held on charges of first-degree murder and first degree robbery. They can get up to life in prison if convicted.
