The Killers are an indie alternative rock band from Las Vegas, Nevada that formed in 2001. The band consists of front and lead vocals Brandon Flowers, guitarist Dave Keuning, bassist Mark Stoermer, and drummer Ronnie Vannucci Jr.
The World Famous KROQ posted The Killers new music video for the single “Shot At The Night.” The single will be featured in their upcoming greatest hits album Direct Hits that is due November 11.
The Killers channel the authentic Las Vegas essence. Sin City is where it all started for the eccentric and phenomenal band, so it is only natural that the city is the location for the music video. The Las Vegas Strip and iconic hotels are featured, as a hardworking hotel maid Bella Heathcote from Dark Shadows is longing for change from her sad and lonely life. Her world changes once she meets Max Minghella from the Social Network as she almost hits him with her car.
Hathcote and Minghella meet again and his friend gives her a makeover. As the night progresses, their love blossoms and they find themselves in an epic Elvis Presley Chapel. It's a sweet and classic love story that unfolds in Las Vegas. Flowers plays a key role in the music video as he overlooks the city of lights from his room and sings.
The Killers collaborated with Anthony Gonzalez from rock band M83 for the single “Shot at the Night.” About working with M83, Flowers told Radio.com in an interview, “We love Anthony. It was nice getting to know him when we played with him on our (2008 full-length) Day & Age Tour. He’s one of the best ping-pong players that I’ve encountered in my life. I guess in France they teach these things. He also loves a lot of the same music that we do, and so it was great to finally come together and do it.”
Flowers opened up about what the future holds for The Killers in the interview. About the upcoming album Direct Hits, he said, “I feel like this puts a long of things in perspective. When I look at it, I’m really proud of it, but I’m also really excited about evolving and growing. I look at the songs that maybe are my favorites on it, and maybe I’m wondering if I need to conjure up those spirits, if they’re still in there.”
There is anticipation for a new single from The Killers and judging by “Shot At The Night” it will be nothing less than melodic perfection.
