We finally have a title for the new Transformers film that will hit the box office on June 27, 2014 -- Transformers: Age of Extinction.
Entertainment Weekly reports that Paramount debuted the title and a brand new teaser poster on Tuesday for Michael Bay’s fourth franchise installment.
The poster shows a metallic robot face alongside the number four, all covered in an orange-desert sand. It has elements associated with the first three movies, but will begin a new storyline for the brand. This of course is teased at in the title with the word “extinction.”
According to MTV, Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura confirmed that Transformers: Age of Extinction will include some new robots called Dinobots. Fans of the franchise will be pleased to see these new transformers on screen.
These new kind of robots morph into dinosaurs instead of flashy cars.
He told Beijing News that, “I cannot disclose the specifics, but you can be sure that the arrival of the Dinobots will give the audience a lot to be excited about.”
The title is reminiscent of Marvel’s upcoming sequel, Avengers: Age of Ultron, which will hit theaters May 1, 2015. The title was revealed at San Diego Comic-Con in July. Bay’s latest Transformers installment is due in theaters a year before that.
The new Transformers flick includes Michael Walhberg taking over the starring role. It is also set to include co-stars Jack Reynor, Stanely Tucci, Kelsey Grammer, Nicola Peltz, Sophia Myles, Li Bingbing, and T.J. MIller.
