Country singer Vince Gill was not afraid to stand up against the controversial Westboro Baptist Church and the entire incident was caught on video.

The group, which many consider a hate group for protesting gays, Jewish groups and anyone else they don’t like. The group protested Gill because he is divorced and married to singer amy Grant, who is also divorced. According to CMT, Gill was first married to Janis Oliver from 1980 to 1988 and Grant was married to Gary Chapman from 1982 to 1998.

On Sunday, Gill was set to perform at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts in Kansas City, Missouri and before the show, he saw Westboro protesters outside. He decided to observe them. When one member asks him why he showed up, he said, “I want to see what hate looks like.”

“Well, more importantly, what are you doing with another man's wife?” the woman asked. “I came out to see what hatred really looked like in the face,” he replied.

“Don't you know that divorce plus remarriage equals adultery? Jesus Christ said that."

“Did he?” Gill asked. "You know what else he said? He said a lot of stuff about forgiveness, about grace. You guys don't have any of that."

Gill did keep his cool, even when another person yelled, “I've seen you on TV, man. You're a big dip-s***. You know that, don't you?”

The Westboro Baptist Church had threatened to protest the George Jones memorial, but did not. However, they did protest a Taylor Swift show in Kansas City. They also plan to protest a Mumford & Sons show on Sept. 20 in Bonner Springs, Kansas.
