The cast for Jurassic World, Universal’s fourth film in the Jurassic Park franchise, is taking shape. Nick Robinson, who appeared in this year’s The Kings of Summer, is reportedly in talks to join.
According to The Hollywood Reporter and TheWrap, the 18-year-old Robinson would play older brother to Ty Simpkins.
Simpkins’ casting was on Monday. Bryce Dallas Howard began talks in September. The plot for the film is being kept under wraps, but THR notes that director Colin Trevorrow is looking to put together an ensemble, so the film won’t focus on just one hero. It also looks like Trevorrow is building a cast of youngsters to lead the potential blockbuster.
Trevorrow (Safety Not Guaranteed) penned the script with his collaborator, Derek Connolly. Steven Spielberg, who directed Jurassic Park and The Lost World, will be producing with Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley.
Robinson currently stars on ABC Family’s Melissa & Joey, but scored a breakout role in Jordan Vogt-Roberts’ coming-of-age film Kings of Summer. CBS Films released that movie earlier this year.
Jurassic World hits theaters on June 12, 2015 in 3D.
