Les Miserables co-stars Amanda Seyfried and Russell Crowe are about to work together again on Fathers and Daughters, a Voltage Films production.
According to TheWrap, the script by Brad Desch did land on the Hollywood Black List of best unproduced scripts. It will be directed by Gabriele Muccino (The Persuit of Happyness, Playing For Keeps).
The film centers on a father and daughter relationship over the course of nearly 30 years, with widower Jake Davis struggling to raise his 5-year-old daughter in the 1980s. The script goes back and forth between her childhood and her battles in modern Manhattan, notes Deadline.
Seyfried’s most recent film was Lovelace and she is currently working on Seth MacFarlane’s western comedy A Million Ways To Die In The West. As for Crowe, he was recently seen as Jor-El in Man of Steel and plays the title character in Darren Aronofsky’s Noah, which hits theaters in March.
Pre-production on Fathers and Daughters is set to start in December. Voltage will be taking the project to the American Film Market and is taking on foreign sales.
