Now that Universal and Focus Features have the two leads for its Fifty Shades of Grey movie, the studio can begin fleshing out the supporting roles. Luke Grimes, who has appeared on HBO’s True Blood, has reportedly joined the cast.

Variety first reported that Grimes will play Elliot, Christian Grey’s brother. TheWrap also reported the news.

Other supporting parts that need to be cast include Anastasia Steele’s roommate Kate and Christian’s bodyguard. The producers previously cast Jennifer Ehle (Zero Dark Thirty) to play Anastasia’s mother.

Grimes’ casting comes just two days after Jamie Dornan was cast as Christian, replacing Charlie Hunnam. Dornan’s casting was also first reported by Variety and later confirmed by Fifty Shades author E.L. James.

Grimes also appeared in Taken 2 and played Deborah Ann Woll’s boyfriend in the recent season of True Blood. His next film is The Shangri-La Suite.

Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti are producing and Sam Taylor-Johnson is directing. Kelly Marcel adapted the book. Universal hopes to release the film in August 2014.
