Alec Baldwin attended the American Magazine Media Conference in New York on Tuesday night and slammed his own film Rock of Ages.
He openly talked about the deterioration of the film industry, saying movies are now getting so boring that people won’t even pay to see them anymore.
“Now people’s own lives are more interesting than what’s in the theaters,” he said, TheWrap reports.
He didn’t discriminate, noting his own movie Rock of Ages (2012) was a “a complete disaster” and a “horrible movie.”
The only reason he agreed to do the Tom Cruise and Russell Brand-starring film was because he was a fan of director Adam Shankman. “A week in you go, ‘Oh God, what have I done?’” he said. “The plane is buffeting, the engine is on fire,”
Huffington Post recalls two weeks before the movie was supposed to begin production there were reports Baldwin had dropped out, but obviously that didn’t happen.
Baldwin played nightclub owner Dennis in the film and even did a duet with Brand, "I Can't Fight This Feeling.”
