Rapper B.o.B. claims that his new album will be the best of 2013.
With album releases by Kanye West, Jay Z, and Drake, rapper B.o.B., real name Bobby Ray Simmons, Jr., says his new album, Underground Luxury will be the best musical album this year.
MTV reports that Simmons made the statement that he will have the greatest musical album of 2013, while walking the red carpet at the BET Hip-Hop Awards.
"For me, it's great because I would have the best musical album out this year, like hands down," Simmons said. "That's no knock to anybody, any of the greats like Jay and Kanye because I enjoyed their albums, but musically, what I put into this album is gonna be the best album this year."
Simmons is not only a rapper, her also sings, produces, and plays the guitar, adding to the musicality of his work.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Simmons is asked about his decision to work on a rock EP.
"Yeah, you know what though? It's gonna be rock 'n' roll done my way, you know, I'm not really chasing after a traditional rock 'n' roll sound," Simmons said. "The reason I say rock EP is because I'm so inclined to have live instrumentation on it. I play guitar, keys and bass myself and I just love live music that way. To an untrained ear it might appear to be a rock EP but it's written really just by me not holding myself back from how far I want to take live music."
B.o.B.'s first single for the album, "Ready," features rapper Future. Underground Luxury does not currently have a release date.
