The Sasquatch exists, at least according to one devoted bigfoot group, which claims that it has DNA evidence and new video to prove it.
The Sasquatch Genome Project held a press conference in Dallas on Tuesday to make its findings public. The group of scientists claim that they have over 100 pieces of evidence that prove of Bigfoot’s existence from five years of research. They also have “never before seen HD video” from Adrian Erickson’s The Erickson Project, showing a creature in the woods of Kentucky, reports ABC News.
“They’re a type of people, they’re a human-hybrid, we believe. And all of the DNA evidence points to that. And they can elude us, so if you get [footage] at all, it can be fleeting,” Dr. Melba Ketchum, who leads the Sasquatch Genome Project told WFAA.
The $500,000 project was “a serious study,” she stressed, of DNA samples they claim came from an unknown hominin species. They found that the Sasquatch lives only in North America and rose around 13,000 years ago.
Of course, there are skeptics. Ketchum claimed that New York University’s laboratory did some of the DNA testing, but a rep for NYU denied this to the New York Daily News. NYU said it did not test any samples from the Sasquatch Genome Project.
“They didn't know what they were testing,” Ketchum told the Daily News Wednesday. “I have one email from a tester saying 'what have you done, discovered a new species?'"

“This was not reported in any scientific way whatsoever,” NYU professor Todd R. Disotell told ABC News. “It’s complete junk science, and then she misinterprets it. She hasn’t published in peer-reviewed papers on this stuff. I don’t know how this got put together.”
