Britney Spears has revealed the cover of her new album, Britney Jean. The pop star also penned a letter to fans thanking them for their support.

On Friday, Spears tweeted an image of the cover, which features a simple black and white image of the singer. The album’s title is written in neon blue with a neon red heart around it. In the tweet, Spears called it her “most personal album ever.”

She also posted a handwritten note on her website, writing that the 140 characters of a single Twitter post were not enough for her. “I poured my heart and soul into this album and it's been an incredible journey. I've learned a lot about myself, and as I am finishing, I am reminded of the incredible foundation that has supported me for the last 15 years,” she wrote.

She thanked fans for following her on her journey and noted that her recent personal experiences have “really inspired me to dig deeper and write songs that I think everyone can relate to.” Finally, she said that, while there are some great dance numbers on the album, she made sure to show “my strength, and my attitude, and my vulnerability.”

“I want to show you the different sides of Britney Spears. I am a performer. I am a Mom. I am funny. I am your friend! I am Britney Jean,” she conclued the letter. “Hope you love my labor of love!”

Spears announced the album title earlier this month. It is her first album since Femme Fatale and will feature the single “Work Bitch.” The Black Eyed Peas’ will.i.am executive produced Britney Jean and she also worked with Sia and William Orbit.

“The album definitely is not just 'Work Bitch,’” her manager, Larry Randolph, told MTV News recently. “This is a situation where there are multiple, multiple layers, things like you've never heard from her before.”

Britney Jean hits stores on Dec. 3, before she starts her Las Vegas residency.
