Life after Harry Potter has been good for Daniel Radcliffe.
Radcliffe has stared in multiple films post his days as the iconic Harry Potter. Now Radcliffe can add Gold, a film that will tell the story of Sebastian Coe’s rivalry with fellow athlete Steve Ovett to his resume.
The film will focus Coe and Ovett during the years leading up to the 1980 Moscow Olympic Games.
Gold will reunite Radcliffe with British director James Watkins, who directed Radcliffe back in 2012 in “The Woman in Black,” reported Variety. Radcliffe will be playing the role of Sebastian Coe. Coe is famous to many for being an Olympic gold medalist middle distance runner.
The screenplay for Gold will be written by Simon Beaufoy and Will Davies. Beaufoy is known for writing Slumdog Millionaire.
Gold will be based on the book The Perfect Distance by Pat Butcher.
Gold will be aiming to start production in the U.K. and Russia next April, added The Hollywood Reporter.
No release date for the film has been announced.
Radcliffe will is also set to star in the upcoming Horns and Frankenstein.
