David Bowie has released a music video for new single "Love is Lost" and boy is it creepy - just in time for Halloween.
USA Today reports that the video eschews the regular music video style of excess. Instead, the singer filmed the video himself in his Manhattan office.
He also made the video on a budget. The video set the iconic singer back all of $12.99 to make the video, with the only real cost being the flash drive used to download the video.
A news release said that his friend Coco Scwab "handl[ed] everything from continuity and sandwiches," while his assistant Jimmy King held the camera. Bowie did everything else himself, including the directing, writing and - naturally - starring.
The video sure fits in with the Halloween spirit, Los Angeles Times notes. The video features little light, the singer and "a couple of puppets from his legendary archive."
The video starts off with the singer washing his hands over and over while clapping is heard in the background. The camera pans across several dummies and Bowie's face inserted over the face of a puppet, which creates an unsettling effect.
