Deja Mae is one of those people who were just born to be performers. Her father Norman Howell, was a stunt man, coordinator and director, as well as a stunt double for Kevin Costner. Naturally, you would expect Deja Mae to take her father’s steps and join the entertainment industry. And she did. Only her passion lies in music.
I must admit that I’m glad that she has decided to move her life in a musical direction, because otherwise, her new single “Sun Babies (Eric Wright Remix)” would never happen. And that would be a loss for musical industry.
“Sun Babies” is such a unique, refreshing electronic track (great work by Eric Wright), overlapped with hazy, dreamy and hovering vocals. The track is haunting, electric, cosmical and absolutely addictive. Try listening to it only once, because I know that I can’t stop.
Apart from releasing her new single, Deja Mae has also released her Through The Half-Dark debut album on April 9, 2013. It happens to be drastically different, but still really good. It’s a little more soulful and a little more pop. But I must admit that I prefer the way Deja Mae’s voice complements the electronic music.
