Johnny Wells, a father on his death bed, only regrets not living long enough to walk his now 10-year-old daughter down the aisle. Wells took matters into his own hands and conducted a pseudo-wedding ceremony for his daughter, where he promised she would have his blessing when she finds the right man.
In the ceremony, 10-year-old Nakeol wore a white dress as she stood by her father’s hospital bed. Her father, who wore a tuxedo, presented her with a ring, which she’ll wear until her wedding band replaces it someday, according to CNN.
In return, Nakeol vowed to find a “Godly man” to spend the rest of her life with when the time comes.
Wells suffers from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease which makes it difficult to breath, according to Daily Mail.
“His baby is the reason he stayed alive this long,” Wells’ wife explained.
Nakeol said that when she gets married later in life, she’ll replay the video of her ceremony with her father.
