An elderly couple living in Chadwick, Missouri have both been charged with first-degree murder after killing their spouses and then hiding the bodies in the 70s and 80s, a case that has been cold for decades.
Alice Uden, 74, murdered her 25-year-old husband Ronald Holtz by shooting him in the head in late 1974 or early 1975. Gerald Uden, 71, murdered his 32-year-old wife Virginia Uden and her two sons in 1980.
According to KY3, skeletal remains were discovered in an abandoned mine shaft in Laramie County, Wyoming, and were later identified as Holtz.
Uden was interviewed by detectives in 2005 and did not even say that she had been married to Holtz. An unidentified witness says that Uden confessed to murdering her husband in 1975 or 1976.
Gerald Uden confessed Friday that he shot his ex-wife Virginia Uden and her two sons in September 1980 when they were bird hunting, Associated Press reports.
It is unclear if Gerald and Alice Uden knew each other before the murders or had planned them together, but they are oddly similar and around the same time frame.
