More casting news for Fifty Shades of Grey has been announced. We already know Dakota Johnson will play Anastasia Steele and Charlie Hunnam will play Christian Grey, and now it’s being revealed that Jennifer Ehle will play Ana’s mother Carla.

Ehle’s credits include Pride and Prejudice, Zero Dark Thirty, Contagion and Robocop, and she will now be involved in one of the most highly-anticipated book-turned-movie franchises of 2014.

Deadline was the first to report Ehle’s casting for the film directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, produced by Michael De Luca, Dana Brunetti and author EL James and written by Kelly Marcel.

Ehle’s character Carla is in her fourth marriage and comes off as a tough Southern woman. Hopefully fans will approve of the casting, as Fifty Shades fans were outraged over Johnson and Hunnam’s casting.

Fans even started a petition to try and get the producers to change it, naming the petition “We want Matt Bomer and Alexis Bledel as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in 50 Shades.”
