Flo Rida is known for producing club anthems and dance tracks that can translate into radio and commercial success. RIda’s latest single “How I Feel,” follows that same formula.

“How I Feel,” samples “Feeling Good.” “Feeling Good,” opens the song and transitions into Rida’s rap/singing style. The use of “Feeling Good,” takes the song back to a vintage feel while Rida reminds the audience that he has moved his music into the future. It is interesting to see the sampling of “Feeling Good,” transition from a male singing into a female singing at the end of the track.

The lyrics from Rida are fun and playful much like the style of the song. Rida keeps the energy of the song up beat throughout and adds in a few different beats to keep the listening audiences invested.

“How I Feel,” does feel like another typical club hit from Flo Rida. Is Rida willing to experiment more with his sound and lyrics in order to really change up his image in the music industry? Most likely not. The formula is working, why change what is working? Fans might want to see Rida push himself more musically but the club hits will always be a favorite.

It is unclear how Nina Simone would react to “How I Feel,” to music fans in 2013 are sure to enjoy this dance driven track from Rida.
