A U.S. student from Florida hadn’t been in the U.K. for three days before he was brutally attacked.

Francesco Hounye, 22, was brutally attacked with kicks, punches and a bottle by five men in east London. BBC News reported that Hounye had to receive 23 stitches to his face and more internally.

The assault happened June 17, but CCTV footage of the horrible beating was recently shared in an attempt to find the men that did this to Hounye.

NBC News reported that Hounye moved from Florida to the U.K. to study aviation.

Investigators believe that Hounye, who speaks with an Italian accent, was targeted because he was a foreigner and did not look like a local.

The incident, a long with the permanent scarring it has cost him, has painfully left a memory for Hounye that he would rather not have.

“Every time I look in the mirror from now on I will be reminded of this incident. I face the rest of my life with the permanent scarring that will be left on my face as a result of this attack."
