Former National Security Agency director Michael Hayden's conversation with an unknown journalist was live tweeted by a fellow passenger while on a Philadelphia's Acela commuter train.

Hayden just happened to be sitting near progressive activist Tom Matzzie, who decided to live tweet the conversation, CNN reports.

According to the tweets by Matzzie, Hayden spent his time bashing the current administration. One tweet read, "Former NSA spy boss Michael Hayden on Acela behind me blabbing 'on background as a former senior admin official' Sounds defensive."

Hayden clearly didn't want to be identified with his disparaging comments as Matzzie tweeted that Hayden said, "Remember, just refer as former senior admin."

According to The Guardian, the conversation Hayden was having sounded like it was in reference to the recent reports that the U.S. was monitoring phone calls from world leader's, like Germany's Angela Merkel.

The live tweeting ended after Hayden got a second phone call that Matzzie joked must be from Hayden's office about what Matzzie was doing. Evidently, Matzzie was right as Hayden came over to talk to him.

But the story doesn't end with Matzzie mysteriously disappearing, but rather Hayden "offered" him an interview. After all that happened Matzzie nice things to say about the former spy boss: "I just had a very nice conversation with Michael Hayden. He was a gentleman and we disagree."
