FX is in the process in producing a World War II series with Slumdog Millionaire Danny Boyle as the executive producer.
According to the TV Guide, Danny Boyle is making a ten-part series, Telemark, focusing on the real-life British-based Norwegian resistance group who sabotaged the nuclear program for Germany during World War II.
Boyle, who is set to direct the pilot, has teamed up with past partners from Slumdog Millionaire and 127 Hours, with Simon Beaufoy as the writer and Christian Colson as the producer. All three have won Oscars for their past works on Slumdog.
“As we all know, some of the very best narrative fiction ever told is currently being created as episodic television,” said Beaufoy. “This incredible story is ideally suited to the slower burn and added, complexity that the longer format allows and I can’t wait to get my teeth into this.”
The short mini-series has not confirmed when it will premiere on the FX channel, but it will likely be sometime next spring, USA Today reports.
