Rapper and entrepreneur Jay-Z’s is showing his support for the next generation of music superstars.
Jay-Z’s strong business savvy persona is perhaps his most recognizable trait, taking him from the Marcy Projects of Brooklyn to multi-millionaire rapper. This week Jigga gave his stamp of approval to west coast rapper, Nipsey Hussel. The young rapper released an independent album this week entitled Crenshaw and only printed out 1,000 copies.
The price tag? $100 a pop.
Jay-Z being the generous multimillionaire that he is, brought 100 copies of the album according to MTV helping the up and comer reach his goal of selling all 1000 albums.
Also this week, Business Insider reported that the rapper’s ROC Nation management company signed Theo and Sasha Spielberg(yes, Steven’s kids) to a management deal. Theo, 25 and Sasha, 23 make up the indie duo Wardell, which is Theo’s middle name and have been on the scene since earlier this year. They’ve performend at SXSW and released a single entitled “Opossum”. They join stars such as Rihanna, Wale, Shakira and Haim, who are all on the ROC Nation talent roster.
