Justin Bieber has released a new single off of his new album as part of his Music Mondays promotion. This time he released “Recovery,” a sad song likely about his break-up with Selena Gomez.

Bieber starts the song by singing a gloomy line about breaking trust and goes on to sing even more about recovering from a break-up.

"First I'll acknowledge our trust has been broken/ A successful recovery/ I pray for us at night,” he sings, MTV reports.

Bieber described what the song meant for him on Twitter, writing "You have to step up and recover. At the time, I was going through a very hard break up and when you’re going through stuff like that, you think that the world is just gonna end. Then you wake up the next day and realize that life has to go on."

Bieber, 19, and Gomez, 21, split in December 2012 after dating for two years. They have reunited a few times but it never seemed to be permanent.
Gomez’s song “Love Will Remember” is also about their break-up. She sings “You said you loved me, I said I loved you back, What happened to that?”
