Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas appeared on Good Morning America on Wednesday to address the official break-up of The Jonas Brothers.
Admitting it was a “tough conversation,” youngest brother Nick said he was the one who came to the other two right before they were to embark upon their now-canceled 12-city tour to talk about their future.
"We're family first, and that's always been our main priority,” he said, E! Online reports.
"In a nutshell, I said, ‘Look, I feel like we've had some complications within the group for a long time without addressing them. I think this train will fall off the tracks without really getting real about some of the concerns and some of the limitations that we may feel as individuals in the group.' It was a tough conversation…It was the first time we really had that real conversation. It was a few days of working through it."
All in all, they chose to “be brothers first” and go their separate ways to pursue solo projects. While Nick and Joe will work on solo albums as well as acting opportunities, Kevin, who’s preparing to be a first-time father, will get back to the business side of the industry.
The Jonas Brothers will be leaving with a parting gift to their fans – a live 10-track album from their summer tour. They will also release four songs from what would’ve been their fifth album, V. “The rest of the album will be never released,” said Kevin.
