Country music legend Loretta Lynn has been forced to postpone two upcoming shows in Iowa, citing exhaustion.
A post on her website cited exhaustion following a tour of Canada. “Lynn started feeling poorly midway through her three week tour. Loretta is a pro and wants to give her fans the best show possible. She felt she Physically was unable to do that,” her rep said.
The statement didn’t say when the shows would be rescheduled, only noting that Lynn would be taking time off to rest. “...She hopes that everyone will understand and is rescheduling both shows,” the statement read.
According to The Associated Press, one of the dates Lynn, 81, postponed was Wednesday’s show at the Paramount Theater in Cedar Rapids.
Her website states that her next scheduled performance isn’t until Nov. 14 in North Tonawanda, New York.
In 2011, Lynn was hospitalized for pneumonia and in 2012, she had total knee replacement surgery, which forced her to cancel two shows.
Lynn is best known for the song “Coal Miner’s Daughter,” which is the title for her autobiography and the Sissy Spacek-starring film on her life. Back in 2012, she said that Zooey Deschanel would play her on Broadway in a stage version of Coal Miner’s Daughter.
