On Wednesday, a man who dressed up as a Sesame Street character in New York City’s Times Square was arrested after attempting to steal money from the Girl Scouts.

According to the Associated Press, Dan Sandler, 49, was sentenced to a year in Rikers Island prison after he was found guilty of trying to extort $2 million from the Girl Scouts, stalking and harassment.

Sandler said he harassed the non-profit organization as a form of protest, the New York Daily News reports.

“I am not in any way sorry to the Girl Scouts organization because I believe they are a very corrupt organization because of their relationship to the pharmaceutical industry,” Sandler said at his trial.

Sandler once held a temp job at the organization until 2008, until he started the harassment with emails and threats to the staff. With his sentence, he restricted from contacting the Girl Scouts officials.

In September 2012, he was arrested for disorderly conduct in Times Square for shouting out anti-Semitic comments.
