Former Sugar Ray front-man, Mark McGrath, is being sued by his ex-bandmates, claiming that he owes them money.
Billboard reports that bassist, Murphy Karges, and drummer, Stan Frazier, are suing McGrath and guitarist Rodney Sheppard for cheating them out of money and not allowing them to re-enter the band.
The lawsuit states that when flying, McGrath would sit in first class while the rest of the bandmates were stuck in coach. He also requested $10,000 for each live performance.
Karges and Frazier also claim that McGrath locked them out of the recording studio and worked on their latest LP, Music for Cougars, with new producers, even though they said that they never quit the group, they only went on hiatus.
In 2012, McGrath and Sheppard created a new licensing agreement for the band that Karges and Frazier weren't a part of.
The lawsuit states "Not content to simply misappropriate the Sugar Ray trademark by licensing it to a newly created shell corporation or unlawfully divert an additional 48 percent of the band's revenues into his own pocket, McGrath spent the last year engaging in a bitter campaign to destroy the personal and professional reputations of Frazier and Karges."
The Courthouse News Service reports that Karges and Frazier "want their cut in touring revenue, and allowing them to rejoin the band."
In the lawsuit, Karges and Frazier say that McGrath posted menacing tweets.
"Since those 2 left, we've become a world class band," McGrath allegedly tweeted.
They also say that McGrath had someone fix their Wikipedia entry to make it look as if Karges and Frazier quit the band.
