Michael Fassbender is in negotiations to star in the gangster movie Trespass Against Us.
The movie would be helmed by first-time director Adam Smith, Deadline reports. Alastair Siddons wrote the screenplay and will also produce. Gail Egan and Andrea Calderwood are set to also produce the flick.
The Shame actor would star as Chad Cutler, a son who no longer wants to be a part of his gangster family's criminal life.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the plan is to begin shooting the movie in 2014 in the U.K. Protagonist Pictures will pre-sell the movie at the American Film Market and Film4 is co-financing.
While this is Smith's feature film debut, he does have some TV and music credits. He directed episodes of Skins, Little Dorrit and Doctor Who. He also directed videos for bands The Streets and The Chemical Brothers, who will provide an original soundtrack for the film.
Continuing a movie with firsts, this will be Siddons first screenplay. He has directed a few movies, such as the documentaries Inside Out: The People's Art Project and Turn It Loose.
Fassbender can be seen in 12 Years A Slave, which has begun being released in theaters, and the upcoming The X-Men: Days of Future Past.
