Yes, you've read that correctly. The summer hit Olympus has Fallen has gotten the green light and will begin production shortly for what is being called London has Fallen. The new film will be based on another terrorist attack and many of the same big name stars will reprise their roles in the upcoming sequel.
According to Empire Katrin Benedikt and Creighton Rothenberger will return to write the big budget sequel. Although with the original writers on board for the project, the original director Antoine Fuqua is not and now the producers are on the hunt for a new director.
It seems the new film may take a turn from the original (of course principle photography will take place in London) as a report on Screen Rant claims that the new film will be more of a buddy romp that an explosion fest. Which is a relief to have a bit of a difference in films. With what you've seen, do you think Olympus has Fallen needs a sequel, or is this highly unnecessary?
