Two teenage girls are being held by police after reportedly finding a dead baby in one of their bags.

CNN is reporting that the two 17-year-old girls were stopped from leaving the Victoria's Secret store in Manhattan's Herald Square.

Store employees thought that the girls were acting suspicious and called the cops. After stopping them outside of the store, a cop examining their personal belongings then found what appeared to be a dead fetus in one of their bags.

According to NY1, a medical examiner will be looking at the dead fetus, who noted that it appears like it was recently born, to determine the cause of death.

NBC News reports that one of the girls said she had had a miscarriage on Wednesday. The girl has been taken to Bellevue Hospital to be examined.

CNN notes that Limited Brands, the company that owns Victoria's Secret, spokesperson Robin Hoffman said there would be no comment from the company, due to the police investigation.
