In one of the final deals following the Toronto International Film Festival, the Daniel Radcliffe-starring Horns has finally found a distributor.
Dimension and RADiUS-TWC will distribute the film in the U.S., reports Deadline. The deal was worth multiple millions, notes Deadline.
Horns was directed by French horror film director Alexandre Aja and written by Keith Bunin, based on Joe Hill’s novel. Radcliffe’s co-stars in the thriller include Juno Temple, Max Minghella, Joe Anderson, Kelli Garner, Heather Graham, David Morse, Kathleen Quinlan and James Remar. Red Granite Pictures’ Riza Aziz and Joey McFarland, Aja and Mandalay’s Cathy Shulman produced the film.
Radcliffe plays a man blamed for the death of his girlfriend (Temple) and suddenly finds horns growing out of his head.
The former Harry Potter actor has worked hard to establish himself as a star outside of the Potter franchise. At the Toronto International Film Festival, he had three films to promote: Horns, Kill Your Darlings and The F Word.
“I'm really excited for people to start seeing these films that I've done,” Radcliffe said a TIFF. “I've been talking about them for about a year and a half. It's been a long process of telling people how they're going to be.”
Aja is known for horror films like The Hills Have Eyes and Mirrors. He previously worked with Dimension on Piranha 3D.
“I enjoyed working with Alex Aja on Piranha 3D,” Dimension’s Bob Weinstein said in a statement. “I think he’s made a masterful film in Horns, and I’m thrilled to continue our relationship.”
According to THR, the film will likely be released next year.
