Rihanna is getting a ton of backlash for posing in front of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi.

Although she was covered up in a traditional hijab, she stirred up some controversy after posting the pictures taken by photographers Steven Gomillion and Dennis Leupold on Instagram.

However, the “Pour It Up” singer is now being called “disrespectful” for posing seductively in front of the mosque.

The Grande Mosque Centre released a statement after catching wind of the photos, saying “The Centre strives to ensure that visitors enter the mosque in a decent fashion, and refrain from behaving in any way that is inconsistent with the sanctity of this religious place. In the event of behaviour that violates the moral codes of access to the mosque, or other visit regulations - such as taking inappropriate pictures, posing in ways that are improper in the context of sacred place, talking loudly, or eating - the violators are directed in a polite manner that reflects the civilisational and tolerant attributes of Islam. Usually, the visitors are appreciative of that,” The Telegraph reports.

She did see backlash, with Twitter users saying, “I love Rihanna but then posing so seductively in front of the mosque is so disrespectful,” but some fans also defended her.
