Do you think slices of pizza are sexy? Well, they can be now that one online site that specializes in Halloween costumes has come up with the ‘Sexy Pizza’ costume. The sexy costume craze is getting some extra attention thanks to ridiculous designs like that and The Daily Show noticed.
On last night’s episode, Kristen Schaal showed off her own line of sexy costumes, ending with the ‘Sexy Vagina,’ which made Jon Stewart a little uncomfortable. But at first, Schaal pointed out the silly sexy costumes that already exist.
Yandy.com recently released its ‘Sexy Pizza’ costume, which (only?) costs $69.99. It has a padded front panel with pizza toppings and shoulder pads that emulate a crust.
Chad Horstman, the CEO of Yandy.com, told Today.com that his site has the largest selection of sexy Halloween costumes and he’s not kidding. Not only does the site have sexy pizza slices, but there’s sexy watermelon and sexy corn. (Why not sexy candy corn?)
“I still have 400 corn costumes sitting in the warehouse right now,” Hortsman told Today.com, but thanks to the viral attention these odd products have received, traffic to his site has skyrocketed.
The site said Monday that the pizza costume is now its top seller, ahead of sexy French Fries and a nude-colored bikini that comes with a foam finger, inspired by Miley Cyrus. (Sexy Killer Whale and Sexy Tux and Ears round out the Top 5.)
There has been some criticism of the fad, since men can get away with not wearing revealing costumes. “It really begs the question of why has 'sexy' become such an important a thing to aspire to, particularly in a Halloween costume that could be clever, funny, tongue-in-cheek, could be so many other imaginative things, but instead has essentially rendered it weird and boring,” Hunter College professor Dr. Deborah Tolman told Today.com.
