First Sinead O'Connor blasts Miley Cyrus, now the singer is targeting producer Simon Cowell.
O'Connor accuses Cowell for ruining the music industry, WENN reports.
In an appearence on Ireland's The Late Late Show on Friday, O'Connor blasts both Cowell and Louis Walsh for destroying the music industry with their talent shows.
"I think the important thing to say is there’s a certain alarm that needs to get rung and I know there are a lot of musicians around the country and around the world that will agree, music is being murdered, rock and roll is being murdered," O'Connor said. "The power of rock and roll to change things, to move people, is being murdered by all of this worship of fame, Pop Idol, X Factor, all this stuff."
Zoomer.com reports that O'Connor also blames these shows for the exploitation of young female artists, and speaks about her feud with Miley Cyrus.
"They’re murderers of music! I stand and say it on behalf of every musician in the world and they will all agree with it," O'Connor said. "I don’t give a s**t if I hurt them … All the sexualisation of young people, all the worship of bling and money and diamonds and 'Pop Idol' stuff, Simon Cowell – it all amounts to the murder of music."
"Miley’s records are great records as far as I’m concerned. What I’m saying is that I feel the industry of music does exploit people who are possibly a little too young to know what they’re doing," she added.
