The news that Austin Mahone went to the hospital surfaced late Thursday, but the illness that was affecting him has finally been reported.
Mahone's rep told TMZ that the 17-year-old singer went to the hospital on Thursday for 104 degree fever.
Mahone is currently being treated for "extreme inflammation" of the throat and a blood clot. The singer is also severely dehydrated. The rep did not specify how Mahone might have gotten so sick.
It was previously reported that Mahone went to the hospital Thursday morning. He even posted a picture on Instagram of him in a hospital gown, next to an IV machine.
He added the caption, "I've never felt so bad," to go along with his miserable expression.
The illness was bad enough to delay his entire tour until next year. A statement People reported, read, "Due to illness, Austin Mahone will unfortunately have to postpone his sold out MTV Artist to Watch Presents Tour to 2014."
"The singer ... is now on Dr.'s orders to stay on rest and will need to reschedule all dates on the tour."
