Sofia Boutella has been cast alongside Samuel L. Jackson in Matthew Vaughn's next film The Secret Service.
The French-Algerian actress was cast to play the lead female villain role with Jackson, Deadline reports. Filming begins in London in January.
According to ComicBookMovie, Boutella will be opposite the film's star Colin Firth. Firth plays a special agent with a trouble nephew, played by Taron Egerton. Michael Caine will also appear in the movie.
This will be Boutella's first major film role. She has appeared in some French TV shows and films and was also a dancer on Madonna's world tour. Super Hero Hype notes that Boutella has been in France's Streetdance 2 and will be in the upcoming Monsters: Dark Continent.
The movie is based off a graphic novel by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons. It's about a secret agent, much like James Bond, who is training his nephew. Millar has had previous works translated for the screen, including Wanted, Kick-Ass and Kick-Ass 2.
The Secret Service is slated for a Nov. 14, 2014 release.
