Academy Award winning producer, musician and writer T-Bone Burnett signed a deal bringing his newly formed Electromagnetic Recordings imprint to Capitol Music Group. Burnett plans to sign artists to the label, which will be distributed and marketed through Capitol
Burnett already has a head start with one project, according to The Hollywood Reporter. With The Basement Tapes…Continued. Burnett will assemble a group of contemporary recording artists at Capitol Studios to complete songs written by Bob Dylan in 1967 whose lyrics were only recently discovered. The music will be paired with a documentary film and book of photography by Sam Jones.
In addition to The Basement Tapes…Continued. , initial projects slated for Burnett and/or Electromagnetic Recordings as part of the new agreement with Capitol Music Group include albums with Gregg Allman, Jerry Lee Lewis, Nashville’s Striking Matches.
