Trick 'R Treat is largely known for being a cult Halloween classic that suffered from distribution and landed a straight-to-DVD release. Producer Bryan Singer (X-Men) has been a key factor in both getting the original off the ground and now is in works with director Michael Dougherty for a sequel to the ghoulish thriller.

According to Empire Legendary Pictures will be backing this project as well (Legendary also backed the first film). Some may be worried about this as it was with distribution where the first film had its issues (critically the film did very well), but that Trick 'R Treat has amassed such a cult following, expect distribution to go relatively smoothly. Knock on wood, though.

At a special screen in LA of the original film according to IGN and other Halloween favorites where the director and many of the cast members made an appearance and directly confirmed that a sequel is indeed on its way, so expect to see Sam return sooner rather than later.
