Director Michael Bay was attacked on set of Transformers 4 on Thursday in Hong Kong after being approached by two men demanding money from him.
A police spokesperson confirmed one of the brothers, who were 27 and 28, demanded HK$100,000, or $12,900, from Bay and when he apparently refused, the older brother attacked him.
When three police officers tried to step in, the older brother attacked them also, the spokesperson told Reuters.
Both brothers, with the last name Mak, were arrested on suspicion of blackmail and assault charges.
Although Bay, 48, did have minor injuries on his face, he refused treatment and continued filming in the busy section of the city.
The BBC reports the officers did receive medical treatment and a third man was arrested on the scene as well.
The fourth installment of the Transformers franchise stars Mark Wahlberg and Nicola Peltz and will be released in June 2014.
Bay’s rep has yet to comment on the incident.
