A weatherman for WFSB, a news station in Hartford, Connecticut, ate what he thought were cereal pieces off the floor of the news room during a broadcast on Wednesday. Minutes later, he realized that what he actually ate was chunks of cat vomit.
Reporter Scot Haney sat at the news desk with three other anchors, engaging in some light tv banter. Then, Haney saw what he thought were Grape Nuts on the floor and picked them up and ate them, which grossed the other reporters out even before they knew what it really was.
Haney described the ‘cereal’ pieces as, “They’re a little soggy. They taste like shoes. I don’t think those were Grape Nuts,” according to the Huffington Post.
Later in the broadcast, Haney admitted to viewers, “I thought they were Grape Nuts on the floor. I ate them. It was actually cat vomit that I must have stepped in at home. It came off my shoe,” according to Metro.
Also, Haney later tweeted:
I just ate cat vomit, I thought it was grape nuts! Omg!!!
