Wells Fargo is giving some relief to people affected by the 16 day government shut down that were unable to pay their mortgage.
Reuters reported that the bank is waiving late fees for October mortgage payments, for those unable to meet the deadline due to the government shut down.
A bank spokesman shared that Wells Fargo will be doing this, but the bank itself has not released a statement on their website or on their twitter page.
This is not the large home mortgage provider’s first time waiving fees for people, who are facing some form of difficulty, could not make payments in full or on time.
During Hurricane Sandy in 2011, Wells Fargo released a press release, stating that the company would waive certain fees for customers impacted by the storm.
In August of this year, Wells Fargo waived remittance transfer fees for ExpressSend® transfers, for those sending money to family and friends impacted by the flood in the Philippines, reported Yahoo! Finance at the time.
There is a strong possibility that this good deed has taken the stress off many families.
