Joe Wright, the British director, has been tasked to take on a new film based on the origins of Peter Pan. He is an interesting choice for directing such a film, at least based on his past project choices.

According to Deadline, the film is being developed on behalf of Warner Brothers. Greg Berlanti will produce, and Jason Fuchs will write the screenplay. But, it is Joe Wright pick that is the pick that is getting some attention. People that follow Hollywood movies may know Joe Wright as the director that makes all of those Keira Knightley movies. He has made a lot of them including Pride & Prejudice, Atonement and Anna Karenina . It is worth noting that most of his movies are big “costume dramas”. What does this mean for the look and feel of this new ‘Peter Pan’ film?

Warner Brothers is not the only studio developing a ‘Peter Pan’ movie; Disney and Columbia are also developing similar projects.
