Temple Run, a mobile game in which an artifact thief runs continuously on a course with no end, is getting a movie, or at least one studio is going to try to figure out how to make one based on it. Warner Bros. and producer David Heyman are reportedly looking to adapt the game.

The Hollywood Reporter first reported the news, noting that the Harry Potter producer is onboard to oversee this project. Heyman also produced Gravity, which has already made $475 million worldwide. He is also going to produce J.K. Rowling’s Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them.

Temple Run launched in 2011 and was published by Imangi Studios. The story is about as simple as it gets - the player has stolen an artifact and is being chased by a demonic monkey. The game has no real end and only stops when the player dies. As Comingsoon.net notes, not only has it spawned a sequel, but spin-offs with characters from Brave and Oz The Great And Powerful are available.

Warner Bros.’ next task is finding a writer for the film.

Temple Run isn’t the only app being turned into a film. Sony is working on an animated version of Angry Birds that will hit theaters in 2016.

Hollywood has to hope that these app-based movies do better than board game-based movies. One of last year’s biggest bombs was Universal’s Battleship, which only made $65 million in the U.S.
