The Killing was cancelled by AMC last year but was then brought back for a third-season order, following the third season of the AMC drama, the show was cancelled again. Now, The Killing will cheat death once again as it is the series will now air on Netflix.

Deadline reported that Netflix will pick up The Killing for a six episode final season and that The Killing will become a Netflix original.

Netflix was a digital partner and carried the first three seasons of the AMC show.

The third season opened with 1.8 million viewers but by the season finale, the show only had 1.5 million viewers.

USA Today added that Netflix has not announced when the new episodes will be airing.

The Killing stars Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman, they play Seattle homicide detectives Sarah Linden and Stephen Holder. The series was originally based on the Danish drama Forbrydelsen.

Netflix recently brought back the hit comedy, Arrested Development, as a Netflix original series.
