Sunday’s episode of The Simpsons was a special one. The episode paid tribute to the late Marcia Wallace, who was the voice of Bart Simpson’s teacher, Mrs. Krabappel.

The episode was titled “Four Regrettings and a Funeral.” In the opening sequence of the episode, Bart Simpson can be seen writing “We’ll really miss you Mrs. K” on the chalkboard of his classroom. There was also a memorial message at the end of the episode. Marcia Wallace passed away on October 25 due to complications from a recent bout with pneumonia. She had been battling cancer for several years. There have been rumors going around about a character on “The Simpsons” being killed off, but no one believes that Mrs. Krabappel was the character that the show’s writers had planned to do away with.

Marcia Wallace was a well-known comedic actress that was not only known for “The Simpsons”, but she also was featured on “The Bob Newhart Show” which aired in the 1970’s.
