After playing mythical brothers three times on the big screen, Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston now feel like brothers in real life.

The two actors play competing siblings in Marvel’s Thor and Avenger films. Hemsworth plays Thor, the Norse god of thunder, and Hiddleston acts as his younger adoptive brother Loki.
Originally, Hiddleston auditioned to play Thor, but lost out to the 30-year-old Australian actor. Despite starting out as rivals, they’ve quickly become close friends.

“We’ve known each other and played brothers for five years now, and he feels like a real brother,” Hiddleston said to the Daily News.

During the actor’s third film together, Thor: The Dark World, the two had no problem getting back into character after 2012’s The Avengers.

“You don’t spend a chunk of your shooting time getting to know one another, you pick up where you left off, and we’ve developed a friendship along the way,” Hemsworth said.

Their relationship is paying off big at the box office. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Thor sequel has already earned $109.4 million overseas.

Thor: The Dark World hits theaters in the U.S. Nov. 8th.
