Gavin O’Connor, who directed Warrior and just finished Jane Got A Gun, has reportedly signed on to direct Tell No One, a Universal-Warner Bros. co-production. The project is a remake of the 2006 French film Ne le dis a personne.

The original French film was written and directed by Guillaume Canet. It is actually based on Harlan Coben’s 2001 English novel Tell No One.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Frank Marshall is producing and the script was written by Chris Terrio. The plot finds a doctor suspected of having a role in his wife’s disappearance. Two bodies are discovered and he’s linked to those as well. But, to add a creepy plot twist, he gets an email attributed to his wife.

Terrio won an Oscar earlier this year for writing the adapted screenplay for Ben Affleck’s Argo, which also won Best Picture. Coincidentally, Variety reports that Affleck was once attached to direct Tell No One, but other projects got in the way.

O’Connor recently stepped in to save the troubled indie Western Jane Got A Gun when the production had issues with Lynne Ramsay. That film stars Ewan McGregor and Natalie Portman.

O’Connor’s other credits include the Tom Hardy/Joel Edgerton film Warrior and the Colin Farrell-starring Pride & Glory.
