Having already released the single, and performed live, A Great Big World & Christina Aguilera release the video for “Say Something”, and it’s really just as good and brilliant as the song itself.
The chorus Say something/I’m giving up on you rings throughout the video with the duo A Great Big World surrounding a lone piano at the beginning, then showing a couple, with an obviously distraught girl on a bed. She looks off in the distance with her make-up smeared by tears. When Aguilera starts weaving in and out of Ian Axel’s vocals, we see a child hiding under her bed covers, watching her parents fight in the distance. An elderly man cares for his wife, as she lays sick and in a hospital bed dying. Yes, tissues are needed when Axel and Aguilera sing the verse together.

The Voice, the song is absolutely brilliant anyway, and the visuals from the video really capture the essence of the song; subtle, tender, with their voices blending perfectly together. The video initially premiered exclusively on Entertainment Tonight on November 19, then Vevo November 20.
